Used Van Repairs
I recently heard an interview on the television that shown a member of one of the van manufacturers discussing the different types of problems faced by drivers within the commercial vehicles industry in terms of van repairs. He was outlining the problem in regards to the shabby repairs being undertaken by many garages and how such thing contribute to crashes and even van insurance premiums. He was mainly talking about used vans as newer purchases come with warranties that allow the manufacturer garages to make any necessary repairs in-house. However, a high level of criticism was aimed at some of the smaller local garages in what he described as “taking people for a ride and charging extortionate prices for low level repairs”. He did however strongly promote that this was only the case in a “minority” of van repair centres and that most were abiding by industry standards. He did advise vehicle owners to be a bit smarter when choosing a garage and offered a few helpful tips such as using one recommended by other vans users, asking for previous success stories and even getting a written quote that outlines the cost of parts and labour etc (this way there are no unnecessary costs that appear out of the blue).
