Unbelievably as it may sound, the car in question can be seen as the initiator of the technological horsepower war in Germany which later spread to other European countries. Equipped with a V8 engine capable of delivering a horsepower of 400, the used BMW M5 had set the new standard. However, a host of imitators soon emerged in the market with even more power.
